I-26 Eastern Star Road Interchange project was a reconstruction of an existing interchange which had inadequate vertical and horizontal alignments. Eastern Star Road was widened to a four-lane facility to accommodate the increased truck traffic caused by the rapidly developing surrounding area. The project required the widening of an existing bridge, which crossed Interstate 26. Within the site was a large pre-split rock cut which required dismantling and redressing. The proposed ramps are of concrete construction. The work included grade, drain, and roadway paving for the diamond interchange.
