Vaughn & Melton provided engineering services for the water treatment plant expansion and Log Mountain water tank replacement for the City of Pineville. The treatment plant project, which increased the capacity of the plant from 2.0 to 3.75 MGD, included two modular steel treatment units with upflow clarifiers and mixed media filters housed in a metal building; new chemical feed systems; new clearwell; new high service pumps; relocation of the existing backwash lagoon; and creation of a new lagoon.
Construction for the $3 million project was funded by Community Development Block Grant program and Rural Development. The water tank replacement project replaced the distribution system’s main storage tank, with a one million gallon concrete tank. Construction for this project was funded by CDBG and Rural Development as well.
