V&M Awarded Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians Projects

The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians/The Cherokee Department of Transportation awarded V&M the preliminary and final surveys, roadway plans, right-of-way plans and data, traffic control plans, utility relocation and conflict plans, erosion control plans, and cross sections for the reconstruction of their Rough Branch Housing roads project. 

 

These roads will require rehabilitation, full depth pavement repairs, drainage improvements, and stormwater conveyance systems, in addition to some shoulder widening where required.  V&M teamed with First Nations Environmental Services, a local Eastern Band of Cherokee firm, to provide environmental services and NEPA documentation, right-of-way assistance, utility coordination, property owner contacts, and public input session/public meeting assistance as needed. In addition, V&M’s team includes Froehling & Robertson as our geotechnical subconsultant.

The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians/The Cherokee Department of Transportation awarded V&M the production of all plans and recommendations for the safety design of the intersection of Acquoni Road and Big Cove Road in Cherokee, North Carolina.  This project will be essential to easing traffic volume issues because the current intersection of Acquoni Road and Big Cove Road is stressed beyond an acceptable level of service throughout day time hours.  V&M will be providing the the roadway plans which will most likely include: right-of-way plans and data, traffic control plans, utility relocation and conflict plans, erosion control plans, and cross sections; and the related recommendations and plan production services.   V&M teamed with First Nations Environmental Services, a local Eastern Band of Cherokee firm, to provide environmental documentation and permitting, erosion control plans, right-of-way assistance, utility coordination, property owner contacts, and public input session/public meeting assistance as needed. In addition, V&M’s team includes J.M. Teague Traffic Engineering for signal analysis, capacity analysis and recommendations for the intersection geometry and Froehling & Robertson as our geotechnical subconsultant.
