Bell County, KY - Native, Adam Knuckles, PE Joins V&M a Johnson, Mirmiran, Thompson (JMT) Company
Adam Knuckles, a professional engineer from Bell County, Kentucky, has been hired as the Kentucky Transportation Design Practice Lead and will be based out of V&M’s Middlesboro office. Mr. Knuckles recently retired from the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) as KYTC’s Transportation Engineering Specialist for the State Highway Engineer’s Office.
V&M was founded in Middlesboro, Kentucky in February of 1967, and was the first licensed engineering firm in Kentucky: holding the state license number 001. Mr. Knuckles’ decision to join V&M expands on the vision of its founders to be present in Bell County and to also provide excellent engineering services to the citizens and traveling public within the Commonwealth of Kentucky. V&M Regional Vice President Danl Hall, PE, PLS stated, "We are excited to have Adam as a part of our growing team in KY. His experience with the Bridging Kentucky program, along with his tenure at KYTC, is a valuable asset for our Transportation clients. We look forward to being a part of this next phase in his career."
Adam commented, "V&M’s core values of integrity, respect and hard work align well with my own. After a 20-year career with KYTC, it was important for me to join a team passionate about transportation and committed to serving the communities in which we live and work. I am truly excited to be a part of this family."
Adam and his wife Tonya have been married for 19 years and have 3 wonderful boys, Jared (15), Eli (12), and Jase (8). Adam enjoys being involved in his sons’ many activities. He has coached them in basketball--as well as back-to-back State Championships in Robotics--for Bell Central School Center in Pineville, KY. The Knuckles family loves to travel. Most recently, in June of 2021, they took a 7,000 mile road trip to Glacier National Park, Yellowstone, and the Grand Canyon. Adam stated, "It was the trip of a lifetime".
In December 2021, JMT added V&M to its substantial geographic and engineering services footprint. JMT, ranked number 51 among the Engineering News-Record Top 500 Design Firms, provides engineering, architecture and related consulting services to a variety of clients in the public and private sectors. JMT is a 100% employee-owned company headquartered in Hunt Valley, Maryland. The addition of V&M creates a staff of 1,900 employee-owners across the United States.
