Talbot County Asset Management

CLIENT: Talbot County, GA

V&M was selected by Talbot County to provide Asset Management on 140 roads. V&M provided Talbot County with a complete Paved Road Assessment on all their paved streets and roads using the PaCES method designed and incorporated by the Georgia Department of Transportation. PaCES = Pavement Condition Evaluation Survey. This assessment involves physically evaluating each roadway for 1 of 10 stresses that detrimentally affect asphalt and concrete roadways. Each roadway is evaluated at least once per mile in a 100 ft segment based upon the worse lane at that location. Four stresses are evaluated per mile in 100 ft. sections and 6 are a percentage of the 1-mile segment Upon completion of the survey, V&M provided pavement resurfacing recommendations and cost estimates for 4 of the county roadways. Once funding was approved, V&M prepared bid documents including typical sections and detailed estimates. Services also included assisting the county through bidding and construction phases.
