PROJECT: SNEEDVILLE SEWER SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS
CLIENT: City of Sneedville, Tennessee
Vaughn & Melton (V&M) was selected by the City of Sneedville to provide surveying, civil engineering and resident project representation services for various sanitary sewer improvements.
Vaughn & Melton’s scope in Phase I consists of replacing approximately 3,000 LF of gravity sewer lines, 11 manholes and related appurtenances to reduce inflow/infiltration (I/I) within the City’s sanitary sewer system. Phase 1 includes $500,000 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds and $38,000 in local matching funds.
The second phase of the project involves installation of approximately 4,000 LF of gravity sewer lines, 16 manholes and related appurtenances to reduce I/I. This project is currently funded by a $500,000 grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) and $125,000 in local matching funds.
Phase III will involve installation of approximately 2,000 LF of gravity sewer lines, 8 manholes and related appurtenances to reduce I/I. The project also involves replacement of various process equipment at the City’s wastewater treatment plant (WWTP). The project funding is pending an application to ARC for a $500,000 grant and a $375,000 grant/loan from the U.S. Department of Agriculture/ Rural Utilities Services (USDA-RUS).
